Hemp makeup is a product like no other when it comes to making you look beautiful, but don’t think that’s all it does. While making you look beautiful, these products are also supplementing your skin in the areas it has become deficient.
The hemp oil that is used in hemp makeup comes from pressing the seeds of the cannabis sativa plant. Within this organic hemp oil there are compounds that are so important to our daily regimen of skin care.
This plant is very high in the essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6. These fatty acids play a crucial role in helping to maintain the lipids in your skin that work as a water barrier to maintain moisture and balance that helps the skin from drying out and chapping.
These omegas also defend our skin from free radicals, which in turn slows the aging process. Hemp oil is also rich with vitamin D, which promotes calcium absorption and contributes to smooth and soft skin.
Do you have sensitive skin or some type of skin issue that won’t allow you to wear makeup? Then hemp makeup might just be your answer.
I have oily skin and I find that it doesn’t leave a greasy or oily film when applied. In fact, it balances out my skin and leaves it super soft. I also use a hemp moisturizer before I apply hemp makeup.
Not only do these properties nourish in such a gentle way, hemp oil is an all-natural anti-inflammatory, which can help prevent and treat acne. This also helps to aid in reducing redness in conditions like psoriasis or eczema.
When using this hemp makeup, the size of your pores will decrease, allowing your natural oil to thin so it can excrete through the pores so they don’t clog up and keep acne at bay.
I love using the hemp lip pencil under the lip tints for a sheer look or if I want, I can use it over the lipstick for a full-color look. Either way, I am sealing in the moisture for luscious lips.
Did you know ladies that over the course of our lifetime, we eat almost seven pounds of lipstick. How disgusting is that? With the hip new trend being organic and the saying “you shouldn’t put anything on your body that you wouldn’t put in your mouth” hemp makeup is the way to go.
I know some of you ladies out there don’t wear lipstick, but you like to wear lip gloss. There is also hemp lip gloss and if you are interested in making your own, we have some great hemp lip gloss recipes for you.
After wearing your makeup all day, you might want to come home and enjoy some me-time and pamper yourself. I know your skin will thank you and you will enjoy how light and refreshed your skin will feel afterwards.
I love this recipe because my skin feels like I just got out of a high-end salon where I paid top dollar for a facial and I can do it myself in the convenience of my own home.
1/4 cup hemp oil
2 tsp spirulina powder
1 ripe avocado
several drops patchouli oil (optional)
Makeup brush (optional)
Mix altogether and brush or rub on your face. Let sit for 20 - 30 minutes and wash off. The longer you wear the hemp facial mask, the more chance your skin has to absorb the mixture's nourishing nutrients.
Prior to masking, you can use a hemp exfoliant. As you probably already know, it is crucial to moisturize after masking, but what most people don’t realize is that a good toner should be used after masking and before moisturizing. That’s where the hemp toner comes into play.
When you use a hemp toner, this will once again normalize the pH level. Let your skin drink in the hemp toner by either using a cotton pad or massage it in with your fingertips. After that step, be sure to follow with hemp moisturizer or hemp serum.
Hemp skin care products allow you to create organic beauty. You can enjoy using this natural makeup knowing you are achieving non-toxic beauty with cruelty-free makeup that is non-GMO, vegan and gluten free.
